Produced by parent volunteers, these videos give you a peek into the educational environment at North Park Schools. North Park houses both a Montessori and a Traditional Public School in Grand Rapids Michigan. The staff, teachers and parent community are enthusiastic and work hard to make North Park a unique and outstanding experience for the students.
The North Park PTA was forwarded the following details about our Montessori preschool. Please do what you can to help out.
Proposed changes to Children’s House
Due to the Senate-approved cuts in funding and the uncertainty about future per pupil and preschool funding, GRPS has been forced to make cuts to preschool programs throughout the district. Here are the changes and important information about North Park Montessori preschool:
North Park Montessori preschool has been reduced from 4 half days per week down to 2 half days per week. Preschool students will be scheduled for either Monday/Wednesday sessions or Tuesday/Thursday sessions. This way we are able to provide service for all children already selected.
Transportation for preschool students is no longer available.
Tuition is charged to families who do not qualify for free or reduced lunch. Tuition will be based on the lunch application to determine if student may be eligible for all or a portion of tuition paid.
Tuition rates are based on two days instead of four days:
$900/year full tuition
$450/year for reduced lunch eligibility
No tuition charge for free lunch eligible students
Preschool starts the week of September 8, 2009.
