Saturday 10/12/2013 Elementary Soccer Game at 3:00 pm

Our next soccer game is Saturday, October 12th at 3 pm at Northeast (the old City). Please have your children arrive no later than 2:45 pm. They should make sure to bring a water bottle and carry it with them from field to field during the games. We will play in all weather except thunder storms, so please make sure to dress appropriately. Please label water bottles & sweatshirts with your child’s name so lost items can be returned to their owners.

Our players will be teaming up in groups of 4 or 5 and playing several short games against a variety of other schools over the course of the hour. This maximizes the number of touches on the soccer ball for each player, enhancing skill development. There are no throw-ins and few penalty calls. The ball is dribbled or passed into play. The idea is to have fun, keep the game moving, promote good sportsmanship, and develop soccer skills, particularly dribbling and passing.

Because we will have about 4 teams in play at once, we need 1-2 additional parent assistants during games. This basically involves following the team your child is playing with and giving encouragement to the players. Other family members and friends may move around to watch games, but it has been asked that you stay on the outside perimeter of the fields, rather than walking between the fields.

Practices will continue to be Mondays after school from 4:15 to 5:00 pm.

Future games are scheduled as follows:
Saturday, October 19th at 9:00 am
Saturday, October 26th at 9:00 am

Thank You!
